I had to stretch a little to find this week's Freak Out Friday because this concept by Justin Mercer really isn't that crazy. What's crazy is that the crest is based on a discarded trademark actually filed by the Washington Capitals (I believe around 2001). They were really considering this logo at one point. It's not bad but it's also not better than anything they currently use or used to use. Which is probably why they ultimately left it behind. Still fun to see what the uniforms might've looked like, though.
