This morning delivered the unveiling of the primary logo for the 2022 NHL Stadium Series which is scheduled to take place next February in Nashville.

The logo was “inspired by the vibrant neon signs that adorn the legendary Honky Tonk bars of Nashville's historic Broadway district,” according to the league’s press release. In addition to the stage lights and neon letters is a bit of guitar symbolism as well as the three-star motif from the state flag of Tennessee.

Honestly, this logo could go on to serve as an icon for the city’s tourism board. It’s beautifully put together. The only thing that breaks up the design is the sponsored version that features the Navy Federal Credit Union logo.

Now that I think about it, how amazing would it be if they’d given the NHL shield the neon light treatment? I have no doubt we’ll see some version of that in the setup at Nissan Stadium, where the game will be played on February 26. The Nashville Predators will host the Tampa Bay Lightning at the home stadium of the NFL’s Tennessee Titans.

This is easily the best logo the Stadium Series event has ever had. If you need proof, here’s a look at all of them in one place.

Only the logo was released today. No word yet on uniforms, but both teams will have something special for the big game. For whatever it’s worth, the 2020 Stadium Series logo was unveiled in October, just like this one. That year, the jerseys for both teams were released in mid-January. So we may still have a few months to wait.
