Jets set Heritage Classic jersey launch for September

Winnipeg season ticket holders received an invitation to Fan Forum, which promised the unveiling of the team’s 2019 NHL Heritage Classic sweater.

The Winnipeg Jets will unveil their 2019 NHL Heritage Classic jersey on Friday, September 13 during Fan Forum at Bell MTS Place. That’s just over two weeks from now.

Season ticket holders were emailed an invitation to the event on Monday. One was kind enough to share that email with Icethetics last night.

The graphics pictured above were included in that invitation. The headline at the top reads, “Heritage Classic Jersey Unveiling!” Further down was the following text with an exciting tidbit.

Be amongst the first to view the launch of the new Heritage Winnipeg Jets Jersey, which will be worn for select games this season. Those in attendance will be able to pre-order the jersey and purchase other Heritage merchandise following the event. Two lucky fans in attendance will win their own 2019 Heritage Winnipeg Jets Jersey!

The big news here—apart from confirmation that there will indeed be a new uniform for this outdoor game instead of a past throwback—is the line about “select games,” which certainly means we’ll see this new sweater beyond the October 26 outdoor game in Regina, Saskatchewan.

All reports point to this jersey being a blue version of the white throwback the Jets introduced for the last Heritage Classic in 2016. If true, the Calgary Flames will undoubtedly add a white version of their throwback jersey for this game. No word yet on when they plan to reveal it, but I wouldn’t expect it to be much longer.

Thanks to Dan Heaford for the tip!
