Fit For the Kings

It’s been over a year since his last appearance, but Christopher Silbernagel returns to the Concepts Showcase today with a fresh look for the L.A. Kings. He writes:

For the home and away, I wanted references to multiple Kings jerseys. I decided to go back to the big stripe at the very bottom, this time with a glittery touch because it reminds me most of an opulent belt made for a king.
The away jersey’s shoulders are a nod to the purple and black era. I also did this because I wanted both the home and away to have the same collar. This collar choice is meant to resemble the bands or furs some kings would wear around their necks, usually on robes and tied with a necklace.
The third jersey is a more specific nod to 1980-81 to 1987-88, only with differing sleeves and a modified version of the shield logo with the current fonts and crown.
